Roderick Stirling MacDonald Scholarships for the School of Climate Change and Adaptation (Returning)
Granted to five (5) students entering their third year of UPEI's School of Climate Change and Adaptation who have achieved an 80% or greater academic average in the previous year of study and have demonstrated a passion for improving the effects of climate change. In December 2017, UPEI received a $1,000,000 gift from the Estate of H. Ruth MacDonald. She remembered UPEI through a planned gift in her Will in memory of her husband Roderick. The significant contribution she provided will create many scholarships and impact numerous students, assisting in imparting them with skills that will enhance our local and global communities. Including an additional gift received in the summer of 2019, over $1,200,000 will support academically gift undergraduate and graduate students at UPEI.
Roderick Stirling MacDonald Scholarships for the School of Climate Change and Adaptation (Entrance)
The Roderick Stirling MacDonald Scholarships for the School of Climate Change and Adaptation are entrance awards granted to ten (10) students entering their first year of UPEI's School of Climate Change and Adaptation. Recipients must have achieved an 80% or greater academic average in the previous year of study and have demonstrated a passion for improving the effects of climate change. These scholarships were established through a significant planned gift from the Estate of H. Ruth MacDonald, who remembered UPEI in her Will in memory of her husband Roderick. In December 2017, UPEI received a $1,000,000 gift from the Estate, with an additional gift received in summer 2019, bringing the total to over $1,200,000. This substantial contribution supports academically gifted undergraduate and graduate students at UPEI, providing them with skills that will enhance local and global communities.

The Roderick Stirling MacDonald Scholarships are granted to 10 graduate and 20 undergraduate students who are registered in full-time studies at UPEI, maintained an academic record of 85% or greater in every course in their previous year of study, and show interest in developing skills to enhance local and global communities.
