Tilskudd til konfliktforebyggende tiltak

Landbruksdirektoratet

This grant program provides funding for conflict prevention measures between reindeer husbandry and other affected parties, including agriculture, landowners, and municipalities. The program supports initiatives that reduce conflicts through physical infrastructure and other conflict-reducing measures. Eligible activities include building fences to protect cultivated land, cultural pastures, plantations, and residential areas from reindeer grazing. Under special circumstances, funding may be provided for other conflict-reducing measures, including helicopter use if desired by reindeer herders. The affected parties must mutually agree on the proposed measures, and costs are typically shared equally between the parties. The grant can cover up to 90 percent of approved cost estimates for projects exceeding 5,000 Norwegian kroner. Projects must comply with applicable laws and regulations, and for fence projects, maintenance obligations apply to ensure protected areas continue to be used for agricultural purposes.

Tilskudd til juridisk bistand

Landbruksdirektoratet

This grant provides financial support for legal assistance to reindeer herding districts and siida (traditional reindeer herding groups) in Norway. Tilskudd til fôring og flytting som følge av manglende konvensjon mellom Norge og Sverige

Landbruksdirektoratet

This grant program provides financial support to reindeer herders in Troms and Nordland counties who face additional costs due to the lack of a reindeer grazing convention between Norway and Sweden. The subsidy covers expenses related to feeding and transporting reindeer, as well as other necessary costs for carrying out these activities, such as purchasing feeding sledges. Applicants must either be prevented from using their traditional winter grazing areas due to the lack of a reindeer grazing convention, or incur additional expenses as a result of choosing to use their traditional winter grazing areas in Sweden. The funding is available to reindeer grazing districts, siida (reindeer herding groups), siida shares, and individual reindeer owners from specific districts in Nordland (Balvatn, Saltfjellet, Ildgruben, and Byrkije) and Troms (Helligskogen, Hjerttind/Altevatn, and Gielas). Funding is provided up to the number of reindeer that each district was allowed to graze according to the now-defunct reindeer grazing convention.

Tilskudd til frakt av rein i forbindelse med slakting

Landbruksdirektoratet

This grant provides subsidy for transportation of reindeer in connection with slaughtering. The program covers two types of transportation: transport of live reindeer from collection fences to approved slaughterhouses, and transport of reindeer carcasses from slaughterhouses to further processing facilities. The subsidy aims to equalize prices for reindeer meat to reindeer owners in different reindeer grazing districts, enable efficient slaughtering and marketing of reindeer meat, and increase slaughter output before migration to autumn and winter pastures. To be eligible, the reindeer must be transported at least 25 kilometers between August 15 and December 31 for live animals, or between August 15 and March 31 for carcasses. The reindeer must be slaughtered at an approved Norwegian slaughterhouse that meets reporting requirements. For live animal transport, the transporter and motor vehicle must be approved for such transport. No subsidy is provided for reindeer slaughtered abroad.

Tilskudd for å levere husdyrgjødsel til biogassanlegg

Landbruksdirektoratet

This grant program from the Norwegian Agricultural Directorate (Landbruksdirektoratet) provides subsidies to agricultural farms that deliver livestock manure to biogas plants in Norway. The subsidy is calculated per ton of livestock manure delivered to biogas facilities, weighted for dry matter content. The program aims to stimulate the delivery of livestock manure to biogas facilities for the production of biogas. Farms with livestock that deliver manure to either centralized biogas plants or farm-based biogas facilities are eligible to apply. Applicants must meet basic requirements outlined in agricultural production subsidy regulations, document that the manure is delivered to biogas plants that produce biogas, and have fertilization plans if they operate agricultural land with plant production. For deliveries to external biogas facilities, applicants must provide information about the quantity of manure delivered and its dry matter content. For smaller farm-based biogas plants, the subsidy can be calculated based on number of animals using rates specific to each animal type. All manure from relevant animal types in the application period must have been used in the farm facility, except manure from grazing.

Ekstraordinært tilskudd til beredskap i reindriften

Landbruksdirektoratet

This is an extraordinary grant for emergency preparedness in reindeer herding operations. The grant provides financial support to reindeer grazing districts and reindeer herding teams when the emergency preparedness committee has declared a grazing crisis and at least 30 days have passed. The funding covers necessary measures at a rate of NOK 4.50 per reindeer per day, and support for moving reindeer from winter to summer pastures at NOK 0.18 per reindeer per kilometer. The grant amount is calculated based on the number of reindeer belonging to siidas or reindeer herding teams where a grazing crisis has been declared. The reindeer count used is based on the number reported in the reindeer herding report from the previous operating year, not exceeding the siida or team's established upper reindeer limit. To be eligible, districts or teams must demonstrate that funds in their special bank account for emergency preparedness are insufficient.
