Youth Bursary Fund
MADD Canada's Youth Bursary Fund provides financial support to Canadian students who have been directly impacted by impaired driving crashes. The program awards one major bursary of $10,000 - The Louise Joanne Twerdy Leadership Bursary - to the applicant with the highest score, along with additional bursaries of $5,000. The program is designed to help victims and survivors pursue post-secondary education and rebuild their lives after the trauma of impaired driving crashes. The Louise Joanne Twerdy Leadership Bursary specifically honors a powerful MADD Canada leader whose son was killed by an impaired driver and who dedicated her life to supporting victims and improving impaired driving laws. The bursary recognizes students who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and compassion similar to Louise Twerdy's legacy. Applications are accepted annually with a deadline of May 31st each year.
