Chevening India Cyber Security Fellowship

UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

The Chevening India Cyber Security Fellowship is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for mid-career professionals from India with demonstrable leadership potential in cyber security or cyber policy. Fellows will explore policy and legislative approaches to cyber security, focussing on the implications for national security, commercial opportunity, crime prevention, and the right to privacy. The 10-week fellowship takes place at Cranfield University at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom (Shrivenham campus) from March to May. The programme offers six exceptional candidates the opportunity to develop leadership skills in cyber threats including the evolving threat landscape, national security implications, internet governance, and protection of critical infrastructure. Fellows will gain in-depth knowledge of cyber threat landscapes and national security challenges, practical skills in cyber risk assessment, internet governance, and technology adoption for securing digital economies, as well as expertise in cyber law, policy, and cybercrime response. The fellowship covers the economics of online business, consumer awareness and protection, challenges in technology adoption, the role of open source, and effective use of technology by consumers. It also addresses cybercrime and internet law, covering economic impacts, domestic and international responses, law enforcement, privacy issues, social media misuse, and accountability online. The program aims to strengthen India's digital resilience and shape secure and inclusive cyber ecosystems.
