Prince of Wales College Scholarship

University of Prince Edward Island

The Prince of Wales College Scholarship is awarded to the student entering UPEI from a PEI high school who has been judged by the Scholarship Committee to best exemplify PWC's tradition of excellence. This prestigious scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and embody the values that Prince of Wales College has represented since 1804. In order for the scholarship to be renewed, the student must maintain a minimum average in a full course load (30 semester hours) of 75% after first year, and 80% after second and third year. The scholarship honors the legacy of Prince of Wales College, which dates back to 1804 when Edmund Fanning, the Island's second Lieutenant-Governor, granted land for the purpose of laying the foundation of a College for the education of youth in the learned languages, the arts and sciences, and all the branches of useful and polite literature.
