Paul Stothart Memorial Scholarship in Mineral Economics
The Paul Stothart Memorial Scholarship was established in 2012 by the Mining Association of Canada (MAC) and its members to honor the memory of Paul Stothart, MAC's former Vice President of Economic Affairs. This annual $5,000 scholarship supports university students interested in pursuing a career in mineral economics. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate similar passion for a rewarding career in the Canadian mining and metals sector as Paul Stothart exhibited during his tenure from 2006 to 2012. Candidates must be enrolled in a Canadian university studying either a Bachelor or Master of Economics, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and must demonstrate an interest in mineral economics through their current or intended coursework. The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and the applicant's demonstrated commitment to a career in Canada's mining industry.
