Woodruff Jacob Award

The Woodruff Jacob Award is an entrance award offered by Nipissing University to students from the Muskoka region. This award is designed to recognize academic merit and support first-year undergraduate students as they begin their post-secondary education at Nipissing University. The award has a value of $3,575.00 and is provided to selected full-time students entering their first year of any undergraduate degree program. To be considered for this award, students must apply for admission to Nipissing University by May 1 and complete a Nipissing University Application for Entrance Awards, which becomes available on the university's website in early March, with a deadline of May 1.

Ptarmigan Mining Award

The Ptarmigan Mining Award is presented to two full-time students who have been employed within the mining sector or who are the children of a mining sector employee. This entrance award supports students demonstrating academic excellence, community engagement, and financial need as they begin their university journey at Nipissing University. Recipients must maintain a strong academic record with a minimum 75% average and demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities. The award recognizes the contribution of the mining sector to the community and supports students with connections to this important industry. Past recipients of the award may reapply for a second award, providing continued support for eligible students throughout their studies.

First Generation Bursary

The First Generation Bursary at Nipissing University is a financial need-based award designed specifically to support first-year students who are first in their family to pursue higher education. This bursary recognizes the unique challenges faced by students whose parents did not attend college or university, providing crucial financial assistance during their inaugural year of post-secondary studies. The award is presented on the basis of demonstrated financial need to selected first year students who self-identify as first-generation students during the application process.

Doty Family Scholarship

The Doty Family Scholarship is an entrance award offered at Nipissing University to support students from the Muskoka region as they begin their undergraduate studies. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit to selected full-time students entering their first year of an undergraduate degree program. This award recognizes strong academic performance and helps students from the Muskoka region access higher education opportunities at Nipissing University.

Calliope Loukidelis Memorial Scholarship

The Calliope Loukidelis Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Canadian Federation of University Women and is funded by the Loukidelis family in memory of Mrs. Loukidelis, a charter member of CFUW North Bay. This entrance scholarship is awarded to the female student graduating with the highest overall average from one of North Bay's five secondary schools who will be attending Nipissing University. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence while also supporting students who demonstrate financial need and are residents of Ontario as defined by OSAP. The award aims to support female students transitioning from secondary school to university education at Nipissing University.
