This grant program provides subsidies for forest fertilization as a climate measure in Norway. The program aims to increase carbon sequestration through targeted nitrogen fertilization of productive forest areas. Forest owners can apply for up to 40% subsidy of documented costs for fertilizing suitable forest areas with lime-containing nitrogen fertilizer. The fertilization must be performed on appropriate vegetation types including various forest types with established regeneration, and must meet specific environmental and forestry requirements. Applications are submitted after work is completed, and must include digital mapping of fertilized areas along with documentation of costs.
