Annie Spears Scholarship
The Annie Spears Scholarship is granted to a student who is enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program at the Memorial regional campus located at the University of Prince Edward Island. The recipient must have a demonstrated interest in health care leadership and plan on practicing medicine in Prince Edward Island upon completion of their degree. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership qualities through active participation in extra-curricular activities such as student clubs, university governance, community organizations, or health care-related initiatives. This scholarship is renewable for each subsequent year of the student's enrolment in the Doctor of Medicine program for a maximum of four years total, pending successful completion of each year of study. Should the recipient cease to be enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine program or upon completion of their fourth year, a new entrance student will be eligible for the scholarship.
NU FIRST Robotics Scholarship
The NU FIRST Robotics Scholarship is offered in partnership with FIRST to up to 2 outstanding students entering any program at Nipissing University. This entrance scholarship recognizes academic achievement and participation in FIRST Robotics Competition teams. Eligible recipients must have an admission average of at least 85% and must have participated on a high school FIRST Robotics Competition team within the last two years. The scholarship is renewable at $3000 for up to three additional years if an 85% average is maintained on a minimum 24 credits taken in fall/winter. This scholarship will not exceed the value of a student's Fall/Winter tuition fees. Students may not simultaneously hold any of the following: Chancellor's Award, NU Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship, NU First Robotics Scholarship, President's Scholarship, Upper Year Carl Sanders Award or Schulich Scholarship.
Nipissing University Alumni Entrance Award
The Nipissing University Alumni Entrance Award is presented to a full-time student entering the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Faculty of Applied and Professional Studies at Nipissing University. The award recognizes students who are children or grandchildren of Nipissing University graduates and who have demonstrated strong academic performance, leadership, and community engagement. Applicants must have a minimum B average (70%) on their best six final 4U or 4M grades and must demonstrate participation and leadership in extra-curricular activities such as volunteer service, achievement in athletics or the arts, or other significant endeavours. Financial need is a key consideration, and recipients must be residents of Ontario as defined by OSAP. This entrance award supports the legacy of Nipissing University alumni by investing in the next generation of students who maintain family connections to the institution. Applications are available on the university website in early March, with submissions due by May 1st.
J.S. Redpath Limited Award in Business
The J.S. Redpath Limited Award in Business is an entrance award designed to attract students to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program at Nipissing University. The award is valued at $2,525.00 and is available to incoming students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, involvement in extra-curricular activities, and financial need. Recipients must be residents of Ontario as defined by OSAP eligibility criteria. This award recognizes well-rounded students who combine academic excellence with community engagement and leadership through extra-curricular participation. The award supports students entering the business program who may require financial assistance to pursue their post-secondary education.
