Student Support Fund

Nipissing University

The Student Support Fund at Nipissing University provides students with urgent financial assistance to help cover immediate, essential expenses because of an emergency. The fund recognizes that personal finances should not be a limiting factor for students and addresses unexpected life challenges that create barriers for students to continue their studies. Eligible expenses include addressing housing insecurity due to emergencies, exceptional life circumstances such as illness in family, fire, or flooding, family crisis, emergency drug prescriptions, emergency dentistry, and emergency eyewear. The fund is issued in the form of a personal cheque and students are normally permitted financial support through the Student Support Fund once during their academic career at Nipissing University.

GeniusCash 2026 Scholarship

GeniusCash

The GeniusCash 2026 Scholarship is offered to Canadian students who are enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate studies with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or equivalent. The scholarship provides CA$5,000 to help alleviate the financial burden of post-secondary education, which may be used towards tuition, textbooks, and other education-related expenses. The scholarship is open to students dedicated to academic excellence in any field of study. Applicants must be at least in their second year of post-secondary studies at a Canadian university or college, and must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. The application requires submission of transcripts and a short paragraph explaining which Quest(s) in the GeniusCash app taught them the most about personal finance. GeniusCash, a moneyGenius brand, aims to help the next generation of Canadian leaders build strong personal finance habits while pursuing their educational goals. The scholarship recognizes that students face rising tuition costs, high textbook prices, and increasing living expenses, making financial literacy and support crucial for success. Applications open on November 1, 2025, with a deadline of October 2, 2026. The recipient will be selected and announced by October 23, 2026, with notification occurring within 53 business days of the application deadline.
