Art Fitzgerald Graduate Research Scholarship
The Art Fitzgerald Graduate Research Scholarship is awarded to a full-time graduate student at the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. Selection is based on the candidate's application for admission to graduate school, including letters of reference. The primary criterion is academic record, and the secondary criterion is potential for success in their graduate program. This scholarship is non-renewable and applicants receiving stipend support totaling more than $20,000 annually are not eligible. The scholarship was established by Art Fitzgerald and family members. Dr. Fitzgerald is a resident of St. Louis, Missouri who spends summers in Springbrook, PEI. A native of Sydney, Cape Breton, he has extensive experience in the biotechnology and nutrition sectors.
Canada Graduate Research Scholarships - Doctoral Program
The Canada Graduate Research Scholarships - Doctoral (CGRS-D) program is a federal program of scholarships awarded through national competitions by the granting agencies: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students pursuing research-based doctoral degrees across Canada. The scholarship provides financial support for up to 36 months at Canadian institutions only, with an annual value of $40,000 per year. Students can apply directly to the appropriate agency if not currently registered at a Canadian institution with a quota, or through their Canadian institution if currently registered. Results are announced on April 30th each year.
Canada Graduate Research Scholarship - Master's (CGRS-M)
The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship - Master's Program (CGRS-M) provides financial support to high-caliber scholars who are engaged in eligible master's programs. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies in their chosen fields. The scholarship is valued at $27,000 for a 12-month period and is non-renewable. Applications are reviewed by the Awards and Funding Committee in accordance with Tri-Agency standards. Selection criteria include academic excellence (50%), research potential (30%), and personal characteristics and interpersonal skills (20%).
