Natasha Memorial Tuition Scholarships for AVC Residency Students

University of Prince Edward Island - Atlantic Veterinary College

Granted to a minimum of three students (domestic and international students) who are enrolled in a residency program at AVC specializing in an area that will benefit companion animals. These scholarships are named for one of Mary Warren's much loved companion animals. Mary Warren was an animal lover and generous philanthropist who passed away in 2018. In her Will, Mary provided for a leadership gift to the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. The College will be forever grateful for her foresight in planning her gift and will be honoured to provide for these tuition scholarships in perpetuity.

Myra Scholarships for AVC Residency Students

The Myra Scholarships for AVC Residency Students are granted to students who have a history of academic achievement and are in financial need at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC). These scholarships are intended to assist with tuition needs of the successful recipients. The scholarships are named in memory of Mary Warren (known as Myra), beloved wife of Roger W. Warren for 52 years. Mary was born in Scotland in 1938 and passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at her home in Toronto. She was an animal lover and a generous philanthropist, and these scholarships honor her memory and legacy.

Maritime Dairy Industry Scholarship

University of Prince Edward Island

This award will be given annually to a DVM student entering their fourth year of study at AVC who has displayed exceptional performance in the Dairy portion of the third year courses, who has had prior involvement in the dairy industry and commitment to continue in that field, and was normally a resident in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island for at least two years prior to their post-secondary education. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence in veterinary medicine with a focus on dairy industry involvement and regional residency requirements.
