This is a state subsidy program for vessel preservation administered by Rogaland County Municipality. The funding scheme supports the protection, restoration, and maintenance of protected vessels and ships with heritage status. The program was transferred to county municipalities in 2020, effective from the 2021 application process. Eligible applicants include owners and managers of protected vessels and ships that have been granted 'protected ship' status by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage (Riksantikvaren). The subsidy can be used for securing, restoration, and maintenance work on heritage vessels. Applications must be submitted through the DigiSak application system.

Akershus fylkeskommune offers grant support for the restoration and operation of vessels with cultural heritage status. This funding opportunity is specifically designed for vessels that have either applied for heritage protection status with the National Heritage Board (Riksantikvaren), have protected ship status, or are protected under the Cultural Heritage Act. The grant is only available for vessels with a home registration port in Akershus County. Priority is given to sustainable associations, organizations, or museums that demonstrate long-term and stable ownership. Vessels with a particular connection to the Akershus region are the primary target group for this funding program. The program follows the same guidelines and procedures as the National Heritage Board's vessel grants.
