Bath Merit Scholarships

The Bath Merit Scholarship is worth £5,000 and is available for overseas fee-paying students permanently domiciled in selected countries who have an outstanding academic record. This award aims to reward students who can demonstrate a background of achievement and success. The awards are available for full-time taught master's courses in the Faculties of Engineering and Design, Humanities and Social Sciences and Science and can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees. Recipients are automatically considered without needing to submit an additional application. Students must hold an offer from the University of Bath for a full-time, campus-based postgraduate taught master's course starting in 2026, be permanently domiciled in one of the listed countries, have overseas fee status, and have a final degree or current grade/GPA equivalent to a UK high 2:2 degree.

GREAT Scholarships 2026

The University of Bath is offering four scholarships to international students applying for eligible postgraduate taught courses for September 2026. In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, these scholarships support students from Nigeria, Pakistan, Greece and Spain applying for eligible one-year postgraduate taught courses. The GREAT Scholarships 2026 programme, launched by the British Council together with over 60 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from 18 countries to access world-class UK higher education opportunities. Awards range from £10,000 to £15,000 and are available for full-time, postgraduate taught master's courses across the Faculty of Engineering & Design, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Faculty of Science and School of Management (excluding MBA programmes). The scholarships can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

Diamond Scholarship

The Diamond Scholarship is offered by the University of Bath to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026. This scholarship aims to reward students with strong academic credentials and a demonstrable background of achievement and success. The scholarships are available for UK students joining a master's course at the University of Bath in September 2026. Awards are worth £3,000 and are available for full-time taught master's courses in the Faculty of Engineering & Design, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, and Faculty of Science. The scholarships can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees. This is a merit-based award recognizing academic excellence for postgraduate taught students from the United Kingdom.

Bath Global Excellence Scholarship

The University of Bath offers up to 250 Bath Global Excellence Scholarships worth £10,000 for high achieving students joining a full-time taught master's course in September 2026. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence, the scholarship aims to reward students with strong academic credentials and a demonstrable background of achievement and success. The scholarship is available for full-time taught master's courses in the Faculty of Engineering & Design, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, and Faculty of Science. This scholarship can only be used as a fee waiver towards the cost of tuition fees and is open to international applicants only.

Commonwealth Master's Scholarships

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) provides the UK government scholarship scheme led by international development objectives. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Commonwealth Master's Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK. These scholarships are for candidates from eligible low and middle income Commonwealth countries, to undertake full-time taught Master's study at a UK university. By attracting individuals with outstanding talent and identifiable potential from all backgrounds and supporting them to become leaders and innovators on returning to their home countries, the CSC's work combines sustainable development with the UK national interest and provides opportunities for international partnerships and collaboration. The scholarships are offered under the six CSC development themes and include full tuition coverage, airfare, monthly stipend, and additional support for living expenses.

Durham Palestine Educational Trust Master's Scholarship

The Durham Palestine Educational Trust offers scholarships for Palestinian students from the West Bank or Gaza to pursue a one-year taught Master's degree at Durham University, UK. The scholarship is designed for students who have completed their undergraduate degree at a university in the West Bank or Gaza with strong academic performance (GPA of at least 80% or 3.0 or B). The Trust aims to support talented Palestinian students who are unable to study abroad due to financial constraints. The scholarship covers both tuition fees (provided by Durham University) and maintenance costs (provided by the Trust), including accommodation, living expenses, travel to the UK, visa costs, and other necessary expenses. Recipients are expected to be active in student or community life and must demonstrate English language proficiency acceptable to their chosen course at Durham University. Successful applicants must commit to returning to the West Bank or Gaza at the end of their course and serving as active ambassadors for Palestinians during their stay in Durham. The program also includes enrollment in a free In-sessional Academic and Study Skills course at Durham University. The Trust operates as an independent charity working in partnership with Durham University to support Palestinian education and development. The scholarship is intended for students who have not previously completed a Master's degree and who have not studied abroad except for short courses. Recipients must be able to live in the UK for 12 months as a single person and will be monitored for academic progress throughout their studies.

Chevening Scholarships

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government's fully funded global scholarship programme, sponsored by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK. Durham University is proud to partner with Chevening, offering Open Awards and 10 Partnership Awards open to applicants from all Chevening-eligible countries. All scholarships are of equal value and follow the same application process. Most Chevening Scholarships cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate for one individual, an economy class return airfare to the UK, and additional grants to cover essential expenditure. The scholarships are available for one-year full-time taught Master's degree programmes commencing in 2026, and applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country and intend to return there for a minimum of two years after the award has finished.
