Beyond financial support, the scholarship offers unique professional development opportunities including regular meetings with Trigon Directors who serve as mentors, and a guaranteed paid summer placement (typically 4-12 weeks) in fire safety sector at Trigon's Richmond Office. The award is contingent upon maintaining satisfactory academic progress and recipients may be expected to meet with donors, participate in scholarship events, and submit progress statements.

The John and Rita Henke Scholarship

The John and Rita Henke Scholarship is a financial award available to undergraduate engineering students with disabilities from low-income households. The scholarship provides a bursary of £16,250 per annum for up to 4 years to support students studying in the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London. The scholarship is specifically designed to support students who are ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom with Home fee status and have a disability as defined in the Equality Act 2010. Only one scholarship is awarded each year to a prospective student starting in the Faculty of Engineering who demonstrates financial need with a household income of £60,000 or less. Recipients must be starting their studies in the specified academic year, and the award cannot be deferred. Continuation of the scholarship is subject to maintaining satisfactory academic progress throughout the duration of study.
