The Zoetis Graduate Research Award is awarded as a research or stipend supplement to a graduate student working in an applied research area at the University of Prince Edward Island. The award provides financial support up to $2,500 to assist graduate students with their research activities. Final selection of the recipient rests with Zoetis Canada Inc., demonstrating a partnership between the university and the pharmaceutical company in supporting veterinary and applied research education.

The Zoetis Carl J. Norden Distinguished Teaching Award is a faculty award presented at the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. This award recognizes and honors a faculty member who demonstrates excellence in teaching. The award provides $1,000 to the recipient in acknowledgment of their outstanding contributions to veterinary education and their commitment to student learning.

The Zoetis Award in Pharmacology is awarded to a second-year student in Veterinary Medicine who demonstrates excellence in the study of Pharmacology. The Zoetis Award for Excellence in Food Animal Medicine is a recognition award for veterinary medicine students at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island. The award provides $1,000 to a fourth-year veterinary medicine student who has shown exceptional skills and dedication in working with horses and equine health throughout their veterinary education.

The Zoetis Award for Excellence in Companion Animal Health Care is a prestigious award offered to graduating students in Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) of the University of Prince Edward Island. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in clinical practice and patient care. The award specifically honors students who demonstrate exemplary clinical skills and dedication to patient care, with particular emphasis on three critical areas of veterinary medicine: parasitology, pain management, and overall health and wellness of companion animals. This recognition celebrates students who have shown excellence in their clinical training and commitment to providing the highest quality of care to animals.

The Wendell & 'Bailey' MacLean Memorial Award is a veterinary medicine award offered through the University of Prince Edward Island's Atlantic Veterinary College. This award recognizes a student entering their 4th year of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program who demonstrates exceptional qualities in specialized areas of veterinary care. The award specifically honors students who have an expressed interest and proficiency in veterinary cardiology and/or acupuncture, combined with a demonstrated compassion and caring for animals. This memorial award provides $500.00 to support the recipient's final year of veterinary studies.

The Wallace G. (Wally) Wood Memorial Award is a scholarship provided by the University of Prince Edward Island to support veterinary medicine students. This award will be given to a fourth year student in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program who has demonstrated aptitude and leadership in the Equine reproduction program. The recipient will be recommended by the AVC Awards Committee representative from the Health Management Department in consultation with related faculty, and the final award recipient will be approved by the AVC Awards Committee. This award recognizes excellence in a specialized area of veterinary medicine and supports students pursuing careers in equine veterinary practice.

Granted to a student entering the DVM program at the Atlantic Veterinary College. The successful candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada who is normally resident in Atlantic Canada, have a demonstrated financial need, and have a strong academic record in their previous degree. Preference will be given to students who have been involved in extracurricular activities (i.e., community participation, leadership qualities, and/or the performing arts), and have an interest in pursuing bovine, pathology, wildlife or aquatic veterinary medicine. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years (including the entrance year). Each year, a new entrance student will be selected. The Walker Wood Foundation was established in 2006 by Neil C.W. Wood and his wife Susan following the sale of some of their corporate assets. The Foundation is dedicated to the funding of post-secondary education to candidates who have a high academic standing, demonstrated leadership or similar qualities and whom might have otherwise found it difficult to afford further education. In the fall of 2022, the University of Prince Edward Island was honoured to have this scholarship for a student at its Atlantic Veterinary College, and in 2023, the Foundation decided to increase its support beginning in academic 2024, eventually supporting four students throughout their veterinary education.

The Victoria Margaret Jones Memorial Award is presented to a graduating student in Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) who has demonstrated extraordinary care and compassion for canines and intends to practice in the area of companion animal medicine. This award recognizes students who exemplify exceptional dedication to the welfare of dogs and who plan to pursue careers focused on companion animal care. The award is valued at up to $500 and honors the memory of Victoria Margaret Jones while supporting future veterinarians committed to canine health and wellbeing.

The Vetoquinol Award in Pain Management (House Officers Award) is a merit-based award offered by the University of Prince Edward Island's Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC). This award recognizes excellence in the field of veterinary medicine, specifically targeting interns and residents at AVC who demonstrate significant interest and proficiency in pain management. With a maximum value of $1,000, this award supports the professional development of veterinary professionals who are committed to advancing pain management practices in animal care. The award is designed to encourage and reward those pursuing advanced training in veterinary medicine while demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication to improving animal welfare through effective pain management techniques.

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital Staff Award is presented to a graduating student in Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) who demonstrates exemplary interpersonal, communication, and technical skills during their final year of study. This award recognizes excellence in clinical practice and professional conduct among graduating veterinary students. It is specifically designed to honor students who have shown outstanding abilities in working with staff, communicating effectively with clients and colleagues, and demonstrating superior technical proficiency in veterinary medical procedures during their clinical rotations and final year training.

The Veterinary Microscopic Anatomy Scholarship is awarded to a first-year student in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Prince Edward Island. This scholarship recognizes academic excellence in microscopic anatomy studies. The recipient is determined by having the highest composite average in two core courses: VBS 111 (Microscopic Anatomy I) and VBS 112 (Microscopic Anatomy II). This award supports students pursuing veterinary medicine education and acknowledges achievement in foundational anatomical sciences.

The Veterinary Macroscopic Anatomy Scholarship is awarded to a first-year student in Veterinary Medicine who has the highest composite average in VBS 101 (Macroscopic Anatomy I) and VBS 102 (Macroscopic Anatomy II). This scholarship recognizes academic excellence in the study of veterinary anatomy during the first year of veterinary medical education. The award is intended to support students pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at the University of Prince Edward Island who demonstrate superior performance in the foundational anatomical sciences.

The Veterinary Learning Award is presented to a second-year student enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program at the University of Prince Edward Island. This award recognizes students who demonstrate strong academic performance and classroom leadership. Recipients are expected to overtly represent the veterinary professional code of conduct and ethics in their daily activities. Additionally, the award honors students who are actively engaged in both on-campus and off-campus activities that contribute to community betterment and service. This award emphasizes the importance of combining academic excellence with professional conduct and community involvement.

The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society Award is presented to a graduating student in Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) who demonstrates significant interest in small animal veterinary emergency and critical care. This award recognizes students who have shown dedication and aptitude in this specialized field of veterinary medicine during their fourth year of study. The award supports students pursuing expertise in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine, a crucial area of animal health that requires specialized training and commitment.

The UPEI Memorial Bursaries are awarded to students from first, second, third, and fourth years at UPEI and from the DVM program at AVC based on financial need. Beginning in 1977, the UPEI Memorial Bursary fund was created through donations from UPEI faculty, staff, students and various departments, in addition to individuals who contributed money to UPEI in memory of their loved ones. The purpose of the fund is to assist students who are experiencing financial need during their time at UPEI. Today the memorial fund provides numerous bursaries for students who are experiencing financial need.
