The grant program is administered by Møre og Romsdal County Council and funding is provided from the state budget.

When distributing funds, county municipalities prioritize grants for fire safety plans for areas that lack or have outdated plans. Applications are submitted through the Digisak portal, with the next deadline being November 1st.
