About

Inspiring Scotland is a charity that works alongside charities and funders to strengthen resilience and unlock new opportunities for impact across Scotland's voluntary sector. Since 2008, they have worked towards a Scotland where everyone, no matter where they live or the circumstances they are born into, is given the chance to enjoy a happy, healthy life free from poverty or disadvantage. They harness the power of private, public, and voluntary sectors by providing long-term flexible funding, tailored business development support, and connecting professional volunteers with charities to address deep-rooted social problems through thematic funds and collaborative working.

Funding Opportunities

Autistic Adult Support Fund

The Autistic Adult Support Fund aims to help adults with an autism diagnosis, self-identified autistic adults, and their families and carers understand what neurodivergence means for them and improve their wellbeing. The fund supports organisations across Scotland to deliver a range of projects to meet these aims. Facilitated by Inspiring Scotland and funded by the Scottish Government, the Autistic Adult Support Fund builds on the work of a pilot which ran between 2020 and 2021 to provide post diagnostic support to autistic people. A new phase of funding will run from October 2025 to March 2028, with funding allocated to nine organisations working with autistic adults to support them, their families and carers in understanding neurodivergence and improving their overall wellbeing.

CashBack for Communities

CashBack for Communities is a Scottish Government programme which takes funds recovered from the proceeds of crime and invests them into free activities and programmes for young people across Scotland. The programme supports young people aged 10-25 who are most at risk of being involved in antisocial behaviour, offending or reoffending. Since 2008, £130 million has been committed to community initiatives to improve the quality of life of young people right across Scotland, supporting over 1.3 million children and young people. The current funding phase runs from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2026, with Inspiring Scotland as the CashBack for Communities Delivery Partner. The programme funds 29 partner organisations that deliver trauma-informed and person-centred services and activities. These projects include diversionary youth work and longer-term life-changing intervention projects designed to support young people to turn their lives around and offer opportunities to move into employment, education or volunteering. A new phase of funding has been announced providing up to £26 million from April 2026 to end of March 2029. The funding provides opportunities and tools to support young people to make informed decisions about their future. Partners deliver projects within six broad themes of work: culture, employability, mental health, mentoring, sport for change, and youth work. All partners deliver work that includes at least two of these themes. CashBack for Communities supports the Scottish Government's Vision for Justice, helping to build a fair, safe and resilient Scotland. The programme supports young people towards or into positive destinations, provides person-centred support for young people, parents and families impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma, supports young people to improve their health, mental health and wellbeing, and supports people, families and communities most affected by crime.
