About This Opportunity

The AHURI Postgraduate Scholarship Top-up provides a $7,000 annual stipend to support postgraduate students participating in the AHURI National Housing Research Program (NHRP). This supplementary scholarship has been established to attract new postgraduate students to housing, homelessness, cities, urban policy, and related disciplines, to develop the quantity and quality of research talent in the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) network. The scholarship is designed to maintain and improve the standard of the AHURI National Housing Research Program. The scholarship is available to domestic and international students enrolled full-time in a Masters by Research or PhD at the University of Sydney. Applicants must hold a Research Training Program (RTP) or an equivalent primary stipend scholarship administered by the University. Master of Philosophy recipients may receive funding for up to 1.75 years, while PhD candidates may receive funding for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Recipients are required to attend three Postgraduate Symposiums over the course of their candidature and submit progress reports at the end of the first and second year of study to the Director of the AHURI Research Centre. The symposiums assist in creating and fostering a housing research community for emerging researchers, and scholars must prepare a paper for presentation at each event.
