About this opportunity
Established in 1997, the AAA Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching of Anthropology recognizes outstanding anthropology teachers who have impacted the discipline through exceptional teaching and inspiration to their students. This prestigious, nomination-only, annual award honors educators who have made significant contributions to the growth and success of the discipline. Successful teaching of anthropology is at the core of producing successful anthropologists, and without dedicated anthropology educators, the growth of the discipline would be stifled.
The award-winning educator will receive reimbursement, up to $1,000, for travel to and lodging at the AAA Annual Meeting. This award provides an opportunity for students and colleagues to recognize and honor undergraduate anthropology professors who have inspired their success and contributed to their professional development.
Nominees are considered for three years, meaning those not chosen in the first year will be automatically reconsidered for two additional years. The nomination packet should not exceed 25 pages and must include a nomination letter, supporting materials (no more than 5 documents, including additional student letters), and the nominee's curriculum vitae or resume. This award is made possible by a gift from Carole H. Browner.
