Children of Fallen Patriots Scholarship Program

Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation Original Source

About This Opportunity

The Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation provides college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. The program serves dependent children – whether natural, by marriage, or adoption – from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or Space Force) and all components (active, reserve, and guard), covering both combat and peacetime casualties. Scholarships cover a comprehensive range of educational expenses including tuition and fees, books and supplies, living expenses, and a one-time $1,650 computer stipend. High school juniors and seniors receive a $500 pre-college stipend to help with testing and application costs. After graduation, the foundation may also reimburse eligible student loans and out-of-pocket tuition expenses. Funding caps vary based on VA benefits: Chapter 33 (FRY) students have a lifetime cap of $75,000, while Chapter 35 (DEA) students have a lifetime cap of $100,000 due to typically receiving less VA funding. Support is available for up to five years and must be utilized before students turn 34 years old. The program supports attendance at four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, trade schools, and vocational programs.
