Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Studentship Funding

Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Original Source

About This Opportunity

EPSRC provides the University of St Andrews with funding for studentships through an annual Doctoral Training Partnership for the School of Chemistry, School of Computer Science, School of Mathematics and Statistics, and School of Physics and Astronomy. A maximum of 30% of intake each year can be awarded to high calibre international students and a minimum of 25% of intake would be linked to collaborative studentships. Studentships are typically for 3.5 years, and EPSRC pay full fees and stipends at the UKRI rate for students who meet the eligibility criteria. The funding duration is for 3.5 years starting from 1 October for each cohort. The submission duration is for four years starting from 27 September for each cohort. It does not include periods of leave, write-up, continuation or extension. As a prospective PhD student, you will apply to work with an individual supervisor or supervisory team within a School, not a specific programme of study. It is therefore important that you look at staff research interests within the relevant schools and ensure that your project matches an existing area of research. All funding and reporting goes through the University. Students will be requested to provide project details for the EPSRC annual submission through the student research data portal in October of the first year.
