About this opportunity
This ESRC LISS DTP CASE PhD studentship investigates inequalities in the impacts of shift work on mental health and attrition among GB police personnel. The research aims to systematically review evidence on associations between shift work and mental health problems among police personnel, examine relationships between shift work, mental health problems and attrition using data from the Airwave Health Monitoring Survey, explore inequalities in mental health help-seeking using NHS data, and qualitatively explore police officers' experiences of shift work. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team at King's College London's Denmark Hill Campus and complete a 13-week placement at Oscar Kilo, the National Police Wellbeing Service for England and Wales. The studentship includes tuition fees, a stipend, and a research training and support grant.
