About this opportunity
The Graeme Samuel Dementia Research Award is offered annually by the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health in the ANU College of Health and Medicine. Funding has been provided by the Australian National University and donors, including a matching contribution from the Dementia Australia Research Foundation (DARF). The award is established in honor of Professor Graeme Samuel AC, former ANU Council member, Chair of Dementia Australia, and Chair of the Dementia Australia Research Foundation.
The objective of the Award is to support an outstanding domestic or international candidate to enable them to pursue a Higher Degree Research (HDR) program in the field of Dementia Prevention Research. The research must be based in the Centre for Research on Ageing, Health & Wellbeing, within the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, ANU College of Health and Medicine.
The award provides $7,500 per annum for one year, paid in two instalments after the Census date each semester. One award is available each year to support graduate research students pursuing either a Doctor of Philosophy or Master of Philosophy focused on dementia prevention research, with emphasis on contributing to dementia prevention and decreasing the burden of disease.
