About This Opportunity

The Greenberg-Gurney-Jensen Fund is a scholarship established in 2005 to assist in training outstanding students in Classical Music, including Early Music and Opera studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The scholarship was created through a generous donation from Dr Harris Phillip Greenberg. This scholarship supports students enrolled or holding an unconditional offer to study full-time coursework or research degrees at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is specifically for students studying classical music, including early music and opera studies, while jazz and popular music students are not eligible. No separate application is required as eligible students are automatically considered for this scholarship as part of their admission application to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Selection is based on academic merit, portfolio and/or performance, and for postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential may also be considered. Applicants may be required to attend an interview. The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and stipulated in the scholarship offer letter to successful recipients. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester, while postgraduate research students receive a fortnightly stipend. The scholarship is offered subject to the availability of funds.
