About this opportunity
The John W. & Edna Wilson Mosley Scholarship aims to assist African American students from Aurora Public Schools (APS), Denver Public Schools (DPS), and Cherry Creek School District in attending their first year at the college, university, or another accredited post-secondary school of their choice. This scholarship honors the legacy of John W. Mosley, one of the first Black students to play football at Colorado State University and a Tuskegee Airman, and Edna Wilson Mosley, the first African American elected to the Aurora City Council. The scholarship provides financial support to graduating Black or African American high school seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA who demonstrate financial need, academic performance, character, and leadership through extracurricular activities. This is a one-time award of $2,000 that can be used toward tuition and fees at the recipient's chosen post-secondary institution for the upcoming academic year.
