NAHN Scholarship Programs

National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) Original Source

About This Opportunity

The National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) awards scholarships annually to active and eligible members enrolled in accredited LVN/LPN, associate, diploma, baccalaureate, and graduate nursing programs. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their promise of professional contributions to nursing and their potential to serve as role models for aspiring nursing students. The number and types of scholarships offered each year depends on available funding. Selection criteria include financial need, academic merit, course of study, supporting documentation, and factors specific to each scholarship. Multiple scholarship programs are available including the Arizona College of Nursing-NAHN Scholarship (up to $10,000 per recipient, $180,000 total), Abbott Scholarship Fund ($10,000 awards for nursing and research students), and the Aguilar-Cuellar-Toben Research Grant ($1,000 for Latino PhD students conducting research to improve Latino health outcomes). NAHN strongly encourages students of Hispanic or Latino descent to apply. The scholarships support minority students traditionally underrepresented in nursing, with emphasis on community service dedication and commitment to improving health and social conditions in their communities.
