About this opportunity
This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student who is undertaking research into perceived risk and management preferences for melanoma in situ, and the potential impacts of alternative diagnostic labels. The scholarship is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and offers a stipend allowance to support full-time doctoral research within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. The research focus is specifically on understanding how patients perceive risk related to melanoma in situ diagnoses and their preferences for different management approaches, including investigating how alternative diagnostic labels might impact these perceptions and decisions. Recipients will work under the supervision of research faculty to conduct this important dermatology and health communication research over a period of up to 3.5 years.
