About This Opportunity

This postgraduate research scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a Master's by Research or PhD student who is undertaking research in preventing harm from alcohol and other drugs among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth. The scholarship is specifically designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research students investigating substance abuse in Indigenous populations. The scholarship is funded by a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Investigator Grant and aims to advance research in this critical area of public health affecting Indigenous communities. Recipients will conduct research within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, working to develop evidence-based approaches to preventing alcohol and drug-related harm among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
