Queen's University Belfast Original Source

About This Opportunity

The Basil Wilson Prize was established in June 1990 by the friends and colleagues of B.C.S. Wilson who, before his death in 1986, held a named post in Mediterranean and South West Asian Archaeology, to commemorate his academic interests in the material culture of that area. The prize, with a value of approximately £200, is awarded annually to the student who, in the opinion of the Board of Examiners in Archaeology and Palaeoecology, has produced the highest overall mark in the final examination in Archaeology and Palaeoecology. This award recognizes academic excellence in the field and honors the legacy of B.C.S. Wilson's contributions to Mediterranean and South West Asian archaeological studies.
