About this opportunity
The Victoria Gollan Memorial Scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to study law at the University of Sydney. This scholarship was established in 1996 by a number of donations made in memory of Victoria Jane Barclay Gollan. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student in the study of law at the University of Sydney.
The scholarship is valued at $1,500 and is paid as a one-off payment after the first relevant census date of the recipient's commencing semester. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree with the University of Sydney Law School and demonstrate financial need.
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and a personal statement demonstrating financial need. Recipients must identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney's Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015. Applicants who apply under the Gadigal program at the University of Sydney are also eligible.
The scholarship is not deferrable without prior permission and is subject to the availability of funds. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance and meet all terms and conditions to retain the scholarship.
