About this opportunity

The Thomas Shoyama Graduate Student Award was established by a generous donation from Hazel Morris to honour Thomas K. Shoyama, O.C., a prominent public servant for Canada and Saskatchewan. Dr. Shoyama helped create the universal health care system as a Deputy Minister for Tommy Douglas and later shared his expertise with students at the University of Victoria. The award is presented to a University of Regina graduate student enrolled in the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy who is registered full-time and in good academic standing. The scholarship supports students pursuing graduate studies in public policy, reflecting Dr. Shoyama's legacy of public service and policy development. One award of $6,100 is available annually with a deadline of February 28.
