About this opportunity

The Swedish Research Council offers grants for research time within primary care to enable individuals working in primary healthcare to conduct research and establish themselves as independent researchers while developing their professional competence. The grant focuses on long-term research concerning diseases and health conditions that are prevented, diagnosed, treated, and referred within primary care. This includes participation in developing new pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, prevention methods, medical devices/treatments, and digitalization. The purpose is to build and develop research competence within primary care. Applicants must have a PhD degree obtained no more than 10 years before the application deadline and maintain at least 30% employment in primary care throughout the grant period. The grant is structured as a fixed amount consisting of a salary component and a project grant component, totaling between 1,510,000 and 1,850,000 SEK per year depending on the activity level (30%, 40%, or 50% research time). The funding period can range from 2 to 6 years starting in January 2026.
