About this opportunity
The Irvine Armstrong Watson Scholarship is a postgraduate research scholarship valued at $1,000 to support research in agricultural genetics, biometry, plant breeding and plant pathology. This scholarship was established in 1987 from a gift from Mrs Loloma Watson and her family in memory of their husband and father, Emeritus Professor Irvine Armstrong Watson, to promote studies in these agricultural science disciplines.
The scholarship is available to students enrolled full-time or with an unconditional offer of admission for full-time studies in a master's by research or PhD within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. Applicants must be undertaking research affiliated with the Sydney Institute of Agriculture in one of the specified agricultural science areas.
The scholarship is awarded as a one-off payment of $1,000 based on academic merit, research proposal, curriculum vitae, and a personal statement outlining the applicant's interest and experience in agricultural genetics, biometry, plant breeding or plant pathology. The award is made on the nomination of the Dean of the Faculty of Science.
