About this opportunity
The Olwen Tudor Jones Scholarship is a $2,500 undergraduate scholarship established in 2001 to assist students carrying out archaeological fieldwork in the Mediterranean. The scholarship supports students who are majoring in Archaeology within the School of Humanities at the University of Sydney. This scholarship was donated by the family of Olwen Tudor Jones (1916-2001), a Research Assistant in Archaeology at the University of Sydney from 1979 to 1993. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, evidence of acceptance onto an archaeological project in the Mediterranean, and a personal statement outlining the applicant's expectations and any financial hardship. Preference is given to applicants participating in fieldwork within the wider Hellenic world, those accepted onto a University of Sydney field project, first-time participants in Mediterranean archaeological projects, and those demonstrating financial hardship.
