About this opportunity

The Polymnia and Aimilia Kallinikos Scholarship supports PhD and master's by research students traveling overseas to undertake research in Greek Studies up to 1453 AD. This scholarship has been established by a donation from Mr Nikolaos Galatis to provide financial assistance to postgraduate research students conducting research in Greek Studies. The scholarship is intended to promote and further strengthen Greek Studies in Australia and to contribute towards travel and accommodation costs overseas. Recipients must travel either to Greece or a neighbouring country where there is relevant material or archives for research within 12 months of the scholarship application closing date. Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time or part-time in a master's by research or PhD at an Australian university which is an institutional member of the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens (AAIA). The successful applicant will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, dissertation/project summary, curriculum vitae, research potential indicators, itinerary, two academic references including one from the applicant's supervisor, and a personal statement demonstrating need to undertake research in Greece or a neighbouring country. The scholarship has a maximum value of $3,000 AUD and is paid as a one-off payment.
