About This Opportunity

The Professor Tadhg O'Mullane Award for Academic Excellence is an annual prize established by the O'Mullane family to honour the memory of the late Professor Tadhg O'Mullane, who served as Professor of Dairy and Food Microbiology at University College Cork from 1961 to 1984. The award consists of a cash prize of €300 and a perpetual plaque. Professor O'Mullane was a pioneering figure at UCC who was instrumental in establishing the BSc Degree programme in Microbiology and was a driving force behind the development and diversification of the Faculty of Dairy Science. The award is administered by the Academic Council on the recommendations of the Head of the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science and the Head of the School of Microbiology.
