This postgraduate research scholarship supports a PhD student in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney to undertake research into a universal gene therapy approach. The scholarship is specifically focused on research as part of a project named 'Development of a universal gene therapy approach using CRISPR-based genome editing technology to treat paediatric liver disease.' This unique opportunity allows an outstanding PhD scholar to work on cutting-edge gene therapy research utilizing CRISPR-based genome editing technology to address paediatric liver disease. The scholarship is funded by New South Wales (NSW) Health and the University of Sydney as part of the NSW Health Gene and Cell Therapy PhD Program. Recipients will work within the Faculty of Medicine and Health and are expected to attend the Commercialisation Training Program and Program Evaluation of the NSW Health Cell and Cell Therapy PhD Program.
