About This Opportunity

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music Scholarship provides financial support to outstanding music students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is designed to assist students undertaking both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework or research degrees in music. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, personal statement, demonstrated evidence of disadvantage, and/or portfolio and performance. For postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential are also considered. Merit-based scholarships are automatically awarded as part of the admission application process, while equity scholarships require a separate application. The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music on a case-by-case basis and will be specified in the scholarship offer letter. For coursework students, payments are made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. For postgraduate research students, the scholarship is paid as a stipend on a fortnightly basis. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance throughout the tenure of the scholarship, with coursework students required to maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 each semester. The scholarship is subject to the availability of funds and includes specific provisions for leave arrangements, research overseas, and termination conditions.
