Deaf Aotearoa is a national organisation representing the voice of Deaf people, and the national service provider for Deaf people in New Zealand. The organization delivers flexible and responsive services to accommodate the Deaf community's needs, providing knowledge, information, resources and skills to enable Deaf people to independently manage events in their own lives. Deaf Aotearoa works closely with Deaf communities, government agencies and other organisations to increase awareness, promote New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and strengthen the rights of Deaf people. As one of 133 ordinary members of the World Federation of the Deaf, Deaf Aotearoa also serves as New Zealand's representative to this international body.

Each year, the programme supports 2 to 4 organisations with expert advice for building-related projects in early development, offering feasibility studies, design concepts, and technical reports. The programme is available to England-based charities and community organisations with a turnover of less than £1 million that believe in good design and positively contribute to their communities.

Dr P Håkanssons stiftelse has since 1920 distributed grants and scholarships for scientific research within the subject areas of medical chemistry, physiology, and food chemistry. Each grant/scholarship has typically ranged between 500,000-1,000,000 kronor, and projects can be recommended for two-year grants. The foundation was established according to Dr Håkansson's will in 1918 to continue running his vinegar factory, provide funds for medical research, and maintain a care home.
