About this opportunity
The KAAD is the scholarship institution of the Catholic Church in Germany that provides funding for post-graduates and academics from developing or transition countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or Latin America. The program supports excellent candidates who already have work experience and plan to pursue post-graduate studies or conduct research at higher-education institutions in Germany. Funding is available for Master's degrees, PhD studies, post-doctoral studies, or research projects lasting 2 to 6 months for researchers. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic merit, social engagement, and involvement in the Church while maintaining focus on permanent reintegration in their home region after completing the scholarship. The program prioritizes Catholic candidates, though non-Christian candidates may be eligible if recommended by local churches and demonstrate willingness to participate in inter-religious dialogue.
