About this opportunity
The Emilie M Schweitzer Scholarship in French and Germanic Studies is an undergraduate scholarship established in 2010 from a generous bequest made by Emilie Marguerite Schweitzer. The scholarship supports high-achieving students studying French and Francophone Studies or Germanic Studies within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. Recipients must be enrolled in 4000-level units of study and have achieved an average of 70% in six units of study in their chosen major. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and a personal statement demonstrating the relevance of French and Francophone Studies or Germanic Studies for the applicant's future studies or career. Preference is given to students who can demonstrate financial hardship based on various criteria including Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status, low socio-economic status, carer responsibilities, long-term medical conditions, sole-parent responsibilities, regional or remote disadvantage, refugee status, LGBTIQ+ identification, or being first in family.
