About This Opportunity

The Pig Industry Scholarship Programme is offered by several leading organizations in the pig industry including Quality Equipment G E Baker Ltd, Rattlerow, Sofina Foods, Myton Food Group, Morrisons Manufacturing & AHDB, and Cargill. The program targets 2nd year BSc or 1st year FdSc students studying at Harper Adams University who are interested in pursuing a career in the pig industry. Each scholarship provider may award one scholarship to a successful recipient. The scholarship provides a significant contribution of £4,500 towards education and includes paid employment with the sponsoring pig industry company during the placement year. A key condition of the scholarship is that the placement year must be spent with the sponsoring organization. Subject to a successful review at the end of the placement with the sponsoring firm, there may be an opportunity for further funding in the scholar's final academic year. The award is paid in two equal installments: half in February 2026 and the remaining balance in May 2026. This is a competitive award evaluated on the merit of the submitted application, academic achievements to date, and interview performance. Students are invited to attend a lunchtime presentation to hear from previous scholarship recipients returning from placements and from industry representatives.
