About this opportunity
This scholarship has been established to enable an outstanding PhD scholar to undertake research for an ARC Industry Linkage Project with industry partner Dulux Australia investigating the structure and stability of polymer nanofibers in paint coatings at the University of Sydney. The research will be conducted under the supervision of Professor Gregory Warr and Professor Brian Hawkett at the School of Chemistry. This scholarship is supported by the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship and provides a living allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney's RTP Stipend rate for up to 3.5 years for PhD candidates.
The scholarship is specifically focused on research into the structure and stability of complex colloidal systems. Successful applicants will be expected to have excellent skills in laboratory-based measurements and data analysis, and must hold a First Class Honours degree or equivalent in physical chemistry, colloid and interface science, or nanoscience. The scholarship recipient must be enrolled full-time in a PhD program at the School of Chemistry within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney.
