About this opportunity

The Roy Frederick Turner Scholarship (Agriculture) is valued at $7,500 per annum and provides financial support to undergraduate students undertaking studies in agriculture at the University of Sydney. Established in 2018 by a bequest from Betty Alicia Turner in memory of her husband Roy Frederick Turner, this scholarship aims to help students facing financial need pursue their agricultural science education. The scholarship is awarded to recent school leavers who have an unconditional offer of admission for full-time study in the Bachelor of Agricultural Science or Bachelor of Agricultural Science Honours program in the Faculty of Science. Recipients are selected based on academic merit, demonstration of financial need, and a personal statement outlining the impact of the scholarship on their ability to study at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is tenable for one year only and is paid in two instalments after the census date of each semester. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 60 each semester. The scholarship will be terminated if recipients accept an alternative University of Sydney scholarship valued at $8,300 or more per annum for the same purpose. This scholarship provides crucial financial support to domestic students (Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, or New Zealand Citizens) who are passionate about agricultural science and require assistance to pursue their undergraduate studies at one of Australia's leading universities.
