About this opportunity
The Sam Eames Grant-in-Aid is a scholarship of up to $1,500 designed to support archaeology research focused on Egypt, Cyprus, or Western Asia. This grant was established to honour the late Dr Sam Eames, a researcher and field archaeologist who worked on excavations across Western Asia and Italy. The grant assists eligible candidates in pursuing research in the archaeology of Egypt, Cyprus, or Western Asia by providing funding for expenses and support that can be planned prior to spending. The scholarship is available to honours students, higher degree students, or post-doctoral early career researchers who are part of an Australian or New Zealand university as a student, researcher, tutor, research assistant, or affiliate, or have held such a position within the last ten years. Preference is given to applicants experiencing financial disadvantage. The award is made based on academic merit, letter of application, curriculum vitae, detailed budget, and a reference from one academic referee.
