About this opportunity
The Agricultural Life Sciences PhD Travel Grant assists PhD students to excel in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, and food technology by supporting them to undertake overseas research travel as part of their doctoral degree. The grant supports visiting research programmes for two to four months' duration, with up to three awards of up to $25,000 available annually.
Eligible students must be undertaking a PhD in agriculture, horticulture, or food technology at Massey University and must have passed their confirmation of registration event at the time of applying. The research visit must benefit the applicant's programme of study and include collaborative research, sample collection, or analysis.
Priority is given to applicants visiting specific partner universities including Wageningen University, University College Dublin, University of California Davis, Cornell University, Iowa State University, Guelph University, China Agricultural University, University of Hohenheim, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, AgroParisTech, and University of Reading. However, applications for travel to other institutions will also be considered.
Selection is based on research excellence, merit in prior postgraduate study, the nature and benefit of the research visit, and how it will maintain and grow Massey University's international collaborations.
