About this opportunity
The Campbell Perry International Research Scholarship supports psychology students who are travelling overseas for their PhD. Established in 2005 with donations by Mrs Jean Swirles from the estate of her son, Distinguished Emeritus Professor Campbell Perry, this scholarship aims to support research-related international travel by Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students conducting research designed to contribute to the development of psychological knowledge from a theoretical and/or empirical perspective.
The scholarship provides financial support for PhD students in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney to travel to another country for a minimum of two weeks to visit one or more international scholars who are conducting research relevant to their PhD project. The travel must be to further the student's research and contribute to the development of psychological knowledge. The scholarship may also be utilized to attend and present at international conferences as part of an approved international visit, though it cannot be used solely for conference attendance.
Recipients must be enrolled full-time in a PhD in the School of Psychology and must be in receipt of a primary scholarship from the University of Sydney that provides a stipend allowance. Preference is given to students enrolled in the second year of their full-time PhD. The scholarship requires submission of a detailed travel proposal including the individuals and institutions to visit, relevance to PhD project, supporting statements, and a detailed budget.
