About This Opportunity

The GIGA Inc. Scholarship Fund was created by the founding partners of GIGA Inc., the late Mr. Sidney S. Miller and the late Mrs. Carolyn P. Miller, who were life-long residents of Wilkinson County. Since 1979, GIGA Inc. has been a leader in serving the U.S. Military and industry with reliable and quality made goods. The scholarship reflects the Millers' dedication to family, education, and their company. This scholarship is designed to assist individuals pursuing an undergraduate degree who display a capacity for learning and a desire for academic achievement. It is available to employees of GIGA and their dependents, as well as graduating seniors of Wilkinson County High School. GIGA employees must have been employed for at least three years for them or their dependents to be eligible. Applicants are selected based on scholastic merit, involvement in civic and extra-curricular activities, potential to succeed, and financial need. Preference is given to employees of GIGA and their dependents. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA and be enrolled as full-time students, or part-time students working full-time, at an accredited public or private college or university. The scholarship typically awards $1,000, with at least one award given per year. Prior recipients may re-apply and be reconsidered each year for future awards, though renewals are not guaranteed.
