About this opportunity
The President John R. Park Scholarship is a premier merit scholarship offered by the University of Utah for first-year, first-time students. This scholarship is available to residents of Utah or non-residents from states other than those eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Tuition Rate. The scholarship provides $10,000 per academic year ($5,000 per semester for fall and spring semesters) to help cover tuition and mandatory fees for students enrolled full-time.
Eligible students must have an unweighted high school grade point average of 4.00 on a 4-point scale at the time of application and must complete their admissions application by December 1, 2025. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters (fall and spring), or until the recipient receives a baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first, provided they maintain eligibility requirements.
To maintain the scholarship, students must enroll full-time (at least 12 credit hours) each semester, maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and complete at least 24 credit hours during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). The scholarship applies only to tuition and mandatory fees at the University of Utah's main campus and generally does not apply to summer enrollment or Learning Abroad programs.
This scholarship cannot be combined with other university non-need-based merit awards from the Office of Admissions or the University Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid, except it may be combined with the For Utah Scholarship or the Utah Promise Scholarship. Students must confirm their intent to enroll by May 1, 2026, to accept the scholarship award and its terms.
